Question: What was your creative process when creating the Ally app?
Here at Skrumble Network we move very quickly. We try and release things as often as possible so that we can get new features out the door, and essentially in order to do so we like to give ourselves super tight timelines. We do this in hopes that our community members stay happy and content with the new updates we release.
Following this, because we move very quickly and try to release new features as soon as possible, it is important that things need to be done very thoughtfully, incrementally, and with the focus of pleasing our users in mind. We believe those 3 things are of top priority when it comes to creating something new.
The app itself is actually quite innovative and complex at its core, it involves a lot of features and there is so much more to come. However, because it is so complex internally we don’t want our users to have this notion of it being a complex app to use. We don’t want them to feel that while they are using the app, therefore we try to do as much investigation and research as possible into latest trends by interviewing people and trying to get as much information and data as possible so when we make decisions we are fully prepared.
In terms of our creative process we like to utilize our white board to its full capacity. We draw a lot on it, whether it is writing new ideas that have inspired us, or if we se something we really like or think our community members will really like, the white board is where is all goes. Essentially, as said before since we do move so fast we have to cut out a lot of the process that normally larger companies partake in. This means we don’t necessarily have the time or the liberty to be able to design an elaborate format of processing our ideas, which is why our white board is a major part of our creative process. Following the introduction of our ideas we then obviously do a lot of research, using our laptops and start the design process.
