Question: What tools do you use to create the app and how does it influence the user experience?
We use a couple of tools to create the app, but we usually start with our trusty whiteboard and a pen and paper. This allows us to freely sketch out our ideas and it gives us the opportunity to see early on if our design works, makes sense, and also gives us a high-level overview of the entire flow of the application. And in the end has a huge impact on the user experience.
After that, we move to our proper design tools like photoshop, illustrator. We then move to prototyping where we mainly use Adobe XD, and Invision where we can further see if there are any possible design issues, or user experience issues that may come up and give us problems in the future.
The great thing is that we can simulate everything right onto our phones. So, when we add the colours, and even when it is in wireframe mode and transferred over onto photoshop we can still put it right onto our phones, and almost feel exactly what users will feel when they use it, just in black and white, and then we do the exact same thing when we add colour to it.
